FOOTIE ace Harry Winks showed off his soccer skills when he made a cuppa by volleying the tea bag into the mug – from the other side of his kitchen.

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder posted a video of his unique approach to tea-making on Instagram.

The 15-second clip shows Winks, 24, at home in his kitchen during the coronavirus lockdown.

He lobs the teabag up in the air and with his stocking feet volleys it around five yards straight into the cup.

He then walks up, pours some milk in and takes a swig.

Spurs fans praised his footie skills with one saying: “Best tea maker in north London, without a doubt.”

Jaibrooks added: “That was sweet no pun intended.”

And Rhian Morgan posted: “This is why he is on the back of my shirt.”

Winks posted the video as footballers across the country try to fill their days now that games and training sessions have been suspended. The Premier League is currently halted until April 30, although a meeting will be held on April 3 to discuss the next steps.

The midfielder has featured in 23 of Tottenham’s 29 Premier League games this season, although his shooting has not been as accurate as his tea-making volleys – he has yet to score.

And although most fans hailed his footie skills some questioned his tea-making ability – including Leicester City star James Maddison.

He said: “At least let it brew Harry.”

Winks replied: “Was a great cuppa mate.”

RAYMOND VAN BARNEVELD has revealed he fell into depression when his career ended in embarrassment – but his new girlfriend gave him renewed focus.

Holland’s five-time world darts champion was humbled by American outsider Darin Young in the first round of the PDC World Darts Championships.

Raymond van Barneveld says he told himself he had to snap out of his depression and realised how lucky he was to have girlfriend Julia

That loss – the last match of his decorated career – really hurt and it ruined his Christmas.

As he trundled out of the Ally Pally exit door, the crestfallen star told reporters: “I’ll hate myself every single day.”

Yet ahead of his return to the big stage in tonight’s virtual darts clash with Phil Taylor, rejuvenated Barney is beginning to smile again.

And that’s thanks to new love as he finalises his divorce from wife Silvia after more than 25 years of marriage.

Barney, 52, said: “I was convinced I’d have a good run in the world championships even though the whole year had been poor.

“When I was beaten by Darin it felt like the floor was gone under my feet. I thought: ‘Wow, this isn’t happening.’

“I gave a stupid interview to Sky Sports. I was devastated. This was my only and last chance ever. I couldn’t forgive myself.

I said to myself: ‘Ray, this needs to stop. You still have a fantastic life, had a fantastic career, a lovely new girlfriend, kids and family.’ Three months later, I feel more energised, I don’t play with stress anymore.

“Later that month I stayed with my girlfriend Julia in London. I was really depressed with Christmas as well. Never happy.

“Julia helped me through it. On January 1, I said to myself: ‘Ray, this needs to stop. You still have a fantastic life, had a fantastic career, a lovely new girlfriend, kids and family.’

“I said now we’ll stop this – and show them the new better Ray in 2020.

“Three months later, I feel more energised, I don’t play with stress anymore.”

One way to boost his confidence would be beating old foe Taylor this evening in the El Dartico living-room battle.

For one final time, the pair will face-off over the Target Nexus Electronic Dartboard over the best of 13 legs.

Once the walk-ons have been done, Paddy Power will donate £1,000 to the Heroes charity for every 180 hit.

What was supposed to be a farewell 2019 tour turned into a nightmare.

He crashed out of the Premier League after getting battered twice in Rotterdam, lost at the worlds, and did not show any glimpses of his past self.

Barney said: “I wish I had stopped in March last year after being relegated in the Premier League. The rest of the year was really poor.

“I don’t miss the Tour. The travelling and playing tournaments – it was too much.

“I’m the worst loser in this darts world. I don’t want to play one or two rounds and then go home again. I’m not a person like that.

“I’d rather retire and sit home and watch the darts, do exhibitions. I’m a winner. I want to lift trophies.

“Going out in the first or second rounds – those moments are devastating and it kills me inside.

My whole life, from when I was 16-17, was darts. Now I’m 52, and I see other things… I miss the adulation.

Raymond van Barneveld

“I’m the only one of two other players who have five or more world championships. The others are Phil Taylor and Eric Bristow. I’m proud of that.

“People say to me: ‘Ray, you are different now.’ Well, I’m more laidback.

“Normally I was always focused and had no time for others. Now I can be myself.

“My whole life, from when I was 16-17 years old, was darts, darts, darts. Now I’m 52, and I see other things.

“I can meet friends and see my family again. Have a nice weekend abroad or a holiday.

“I miss the adulation. I had a farewell night in Amsterdam on February 8.

“It was amazing. Robin van Persie and Rafael van der Vaart were there. They put me on their shoulders.

Ferrari agree to be ‘flexible’ to allow F1 to get back on track as soon as possible amid coronavirus shutdown

FERRARI boss Mattia Binotto says his team are willing to be “flexible” to allow F1 chiefs to run as many races as possible this season.

Binotto says F1’s most famous team, known for their hardline stance when it comes to rules, say they will be open to the sport’s plans once the coronavirus pandemic has scaled down.

The Ferrari chief is open to double-race weekends to allow the sport achieve F1 CEO Chase Carey’s goal of putting on between 15 and 18 races this season.

He said: “We know from the sporting regulations that to have a world championship you need at least eight races, but everyone is trying to look for more than that.

“I think what will be important for us is really to be flexible. I’m pretty sure Chase and the teams will be capable of putting together the best championship we can have. “From our side, we are ready for whatever is needed whether short race weekends, double races, whenever it will finish or packing the races together.

“It is important to be flexible and making sure we can have good races as well for the fans.

The Canadian GP became the ninth race to be either scrapped or postponed and there is no news yet when the season will finally get underway. Binotto added: “No one can really know [when the season will start].

“F1 is certainly trying to organise the best season, maybe starting early July if that would be possible but we cannot have any confirmation at the moment. But I think by the end of May we will have a clearer picture.

“I think it is in the interests of everyone to start racing when we can, when that will be possible, and have as many races as we can but I think now it’s too early to have a clear picture of what will be the future.”

F1 chiefs were on a conference call on Monday where they discussed plans for a budget cap from the 2021 season.

Smaller teams have been pushing for tighter controls on how much the bigger teams spend.

McLaren boss Zak Brown wants the $175m (£143m) annual cost cap reduced, but Binnotto, whose team spend around double that per year, is not so keen.

He said: “I think we should avoid being emotional at the moment.

“We are fully aware of the difficulties of some teams and we are fully aware we need to address costs for the future of F1 – reducing costs is the first driver of making sure each single team is surviving.

Arteta spying on Arsenal aces using hi-tech GPS during lockdown to ensure fitness

“We are discussing a budget-cap reduction but we should not forget in doing that exercise that we’ve got different structures, and different assets.

“There are teams which are constructors like Ferrari and other top teams where we are designing, developing, homologating and producing each single component of our cars.

“Other teams are customers, buying some parts, and do not have the same structures. So when discussing a budget cap we must not forget we have different situations, and it’s important we found a common ground which is suited to the different situations and maybe the answer is not a single budget cap equal for all the teams.”

MIKEL ARTETA is plugging his players into a GPS network – to spy on their fitness levels during the coronavirus lockdown.

Having already used GPS vests in normal training, the Gunners are now wearing trackers to monitor their individual regimes at home.

It means Arsenal’s fitness department can closely analyse the results as players try to maintain as much sharpness as possible.

Defenders Sead Kolasinac and David Luiz are among many Gunners who pretty much have home gyms.

So Arteta is confident he can trust his squad to stick to the training programmes they were given when match action was suspended last month amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Football.london says Arsenal have joined a handful of Premier League rivals, including neighbours Tottenham in installing a hi-tech system.

Spurs are thought to be teaming up with STAT Sports so that player data can be sent back to the club via an app.

Jose Mourinho’s men have also united for some training sessions by using video conferencing platforms like Zoom.

But Prem clubs’ fitness experts are realistic about what can be achieved in limited space.

So most are focusing more on strength and conditioning, rather than hoping players can replicate ballwork or sprinting.

Meanwhile Manchester United and Barcelona have reportedly joined Arsenal in chasing Real Madrid starlet Cesar Gelabert.

AS say the Spanish attacking midfielder, 19, could make a shock summer exit.
